Hey there basement crawlers! (Note to self: think of a better name for you guys) 


 We’re coming at you with another build of the Hyper Dimensional Basement Crawler alpha for  you to play around with and provide feedback for. This build of the game is focused on polishing up how some of the combat feels, as well as improving the base AI for the combat dummies. 

Our philosophy for these early builds is to work closely with you guys to polish up the mechanics and experience, and hopefully in the next build we can provide a small test dungeon for you to play through and fight some real enemies in. 

Some things we’ve added. - Improved hitbox and iframes for Finley’s sword attack

- An animation for sprinting (shift)

- Improved enemy AI

- Hit indicator for Finley

- Tweaks to player movement and animations

- Minimap

- Removed Cole

Playing this build I noticed having to bob and weave around the enemies in the basement quite a bit more, so hopefully this will provide a more accurate picture of what we’re aiming for in the combat. Going into this next build we’re going to be constructing something more in line to how we want the combat to work in the game which follows the flow of avoiding slow moving projectiles in a bullet-hell fashion while taking out more mobile enemies in close range, kiting around the environment to destroy the bullet spawning enemies and turrets. That’s the base, but we feel like there’s a lot more we can do with that.
